The Gene of the film was a mix between social realism and comedy it was not easy to identify because although the film was set in a social realism state instead of dialogue Non digtetic percussion was used. The mise on scene helped me to know that the film was classed as social realism.
The was this film uses the genre so uniquely is that there is not really an actually classed genre for this type of film but it fit into the social realism prototype but then again it could be classed as a musical but because no one is singing it could also be seen as a comedy.
The sound is almost the most important thing about the Short film. Instead of spoken duologue the two actors communicate thought trumpet sounds the sound we hear is non- diegetic music.
I felt that the film had the right amount of time because if it had been longer it will have lost the interest of the viewers so the fact that it was short film made it more enjoyable.

Research and Planning task for Wasp
The genre of Wasp is Social realism. The evidence for this was seen through the continuity used though out the short film and mise en scene used helped the audience to see the realism of the film. The characters also portray to the audience that the short film is classed as social realism.
The aspects of the short film that i found int resting was just some of the beginning shots, by the use of the camera the audience was able to see how dysfunctional the mother character was, Some of the angles shot really high lighted the mother actions and showed us the children in a darker light
The film uses the short film format to it's very on advantage because the story could have continued and even expanded to a bigger story but Wasp was able to show so much in 27minutes that it would of shown in an hour. I think the film could of defiantly worked if it had been longer but i also feel that the film did well in the 27 minuets it showed for.
The use of sound was great because all the sound used was diegetic which i liked because it emphasized that the film genre was social realism. From the sound of Danny dyers "shitty banger" to the old classic pub hits the sound we heard was real so as an audience we were able to connect with the film even more.
The film is about a single mother called Zoe who lives with her four children. She is so poor and can't afford to buy food for herself and her kids. When she is walking home from having a vicious brawl with one of the neighbours for hitting her own child she See's her ex-boyfriend drive by and he asks her to go on a date with him. When he asks her who the kids are with her she gets scared that he doesn't want to go out with her so she lies and tells him that she is just babysitting the kids.

Just saw Andrea Arnold's 'WASP' and am blown away by the her talent - this story is so painfully real that as much as you want to look away you can't.
Beautifully cast and acted - not one false note from any of the cast (the kids are superb) and shot in such away that you find yourself not watching a dramatization but participating in something that is actually happening. You want to reach out and just grab the mother and shake some sense into her, even as you can't begrudge her need to have a brief moment of happiness (potentially destructive as her actions and needs are).
The director has great talent! Hopefully Hollywood will cultivate her!!
